Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker's first post-expansion patch came down today, adding a new eight-player bust and making various tweaks and adjustments. As I was peeping the spot notes I came crosswise something I hadn't expected: Square Enix fixed the goddamn grapes.

In case you missed it, the Final Fantasy 14 community shortly became obsessed with these insufficient-poly grapes found in Labyrinthos, one and only of the expansion's young zones you can call. Some thought the grapes were an barbarity, while others (including our own Tyler Colp) mentation they were fantastic. I'm on Tyler's side—they were beautiful, blocky and unique bunches of polygons.

Information technology seems all the memes and tweets were enough to bring in the grapes to Square Enix's attention though, as the bran-new bandage has made them substantially inferior chunky. They'atomic number 75 not quite at the levels of particular as the infamous 1.0 flus pot, only the sight of them International Relations and Security Network't as jarring any longer. The patch notes are adventuresome sufficient to prognosticate the low-poly grapes an issue, claiming they "were reduced in unnecessary to alleviate system of rules memory usage in the area," just I think there's a good chance they wouldn't have changed had their presence not quickly go a joke amongst the community.

Their lost crudeness is being mourned along Twitter and Reddit, which real evenhanded goes to usher how quickly players can get attached to the daftest things, tied things they've spent the last two weeks taking the pissing out of. I'm pretty sad they'Ra gone too, but we'll always remember the OGs—you can polish a grape crystal, but it's still a grapevine crystal after complete.

Patch 6.01 has also made just about current meaningful changes. Solo tariff 'In from the Cold' has had its Simplified and Very Easy difficulties tweaked following frustrations some the quest's structure, making it easier to place bound items necessary. New Eight-player foray into Pandæmonium brings particular level 580 armour, and an military issue causation game sound to perforated out altogether has been fixed. Experience from dungeons from levels 81 to 89 have been increased and NPCs should no longer randomly float when accompanying you during quests.

Mollie Taylor

A fresh writer in the industry, Mollie has been taken low PC Gamer's RGB-laden wing, making sure she doesn't get up to too much mischievousness on the site. She's not quite sure what a Command & Conquer is, just she can rattle on for hours about all the obscure rhythm games and peculiar MMOs from the 2000s. She's been cookery up all manner of news, previews and features while she's been here, but especially enjoys when she gets to write of Ultimate Fancy, Persona, The Sims, and whatever other pun she's currently hopelessly fixated on. There's a good bump she's boring another PC Gamer writer about her latest compulsion as we speak.
