Salesforce Co-founder and Wife Buy Time Magazine for $190 Million

Salesforce co-founder Marc Benioff and his wife Lynne have reportedly agreed to purchase Time mag for $190 million in greenbacks from media and marketing visitor, Meredith Corporation, which itself bought the famed publication from Time Inc. earlier this year. According to a press release from Meredith, the proposed bargain is being financed personally by the Benioffs and is expected to be completed inside xxx days.

The printing release farther assures Time readers that goose egg will alter on the editorial side of things, with neither Marc nor Lynne Benioff expected to be involved in either the day-to-day operations or journalistic decisions, which will continue to exist led past Time's current executive leadership team.

In an interview to WSJ, Mr. Benioff said that Time will have no connection to Salesforce and it will be held as a family investment. According to him, "Nosotros're investing in a visitor with tremendous impact on the world, one that is also an incredibly potent business. That's what we're looking for when nosotros invest every bit a family".

Mrs. Benioff too expressed her faith in the the Time make, slaying, "The power of Time is its unique story telling of the people and issues that affect us all and connect u.s.a. all".

The Time-Benioff bargain is the second loftier-profile conquering of a reputable US news publication by a tech billionaire after the much-publicized takeover of Washington Post past Amazon co-founder, Jeff Bezos. While the latter is the richest human in the globe with an estimated internet worth over $100 billion, Benioff is believed to be worth $vi.7bn according to Forbes' almanac rich list.
